Senior Instructor

I am Liam Wickham, founder of Game Production Academy and author of Risk Management for Video Game Professionals (CRC Press, 2026).

Game production often fails for predictable reasons: hidden risk, unclear priorities, late decisions and crisis-driven delivery. My work focuses on fixing that with structured, sustainable production practices that teams can repeat.

I have more than 25 years of experience across game production, leadership and studio operations. My roles have included Development Support Manager, Head of Operations, General Manager, Development Director, Senior Executive Producer, Chief of Staff, VP of Production and Chief Development Officer. I have worked with studios and organisations including Sony PlayStation, Sumo Digital, Wargaming and others, as well as programme and transformation work in other sectors including AstraZeneca, BT and the UK Foreign Office.

This course is designed for professionals and is also suitable for students and educators who want industry-grade practice material. Expect practical frameworks, templates and decision tools you can apply immediately.

Credentials include MSP, PRINCE2, SAFe, Scrum (PSPO/PSM) and Kanban certifications.
